Yanfeng Hourly Nonexempt Handbook

TIME RECORDS

In accordance with state and federal regulations, records must be kept of all hours worked by non-exempt employees, including overtime. Timecards or other record keeping methods may be used for this purpose. Your timecard or record must be signed by your supervisor and submitted to the Human Resource Department immediately after the close of each pay period. Failure to timely submit your time record may result in delayed payment of wages. Before beginning work, all employees will be provided with a time badge, and will be instructed on how to use a time clock. Employees will be responsible for punching in and out according to the scheduled shift. Failure to punch in or out properly will result in an incorrect or a delayed paycheck. If you fail to punch in or out correctly, or if you inadvertently make a mistake, you must contact your immediate Supervisor, or Manager promptly for correction by filling out the timecard change authorization form. To encourage promptness and preparation for the workday, employees may clock-in up to 14 minutes earlier than the scheduled start of the shift. Time will be rolled down to the scheduled shift time. Employees are not permitted to conduct any work-related activities until the start of the scheduled shift . If approved by the supervisor and a business need arrives, employees may begin work and will be compensated for that time. Employees also will be given up to 14 minutes after the end of the scheduled shift to clock out. Overtime will be paid after this point and must be pre-approved by the supervisor. The time badge is your responsibility. Worn or damaged badges must be returned to Human Resources. Lost badges will be replaced at a cost to the employee of $10.00; payable via payroll deduction.
