This is an effective selection to be used on a Sunday when Baptism is being celebrated during worship. You can add this anthem to your church’s collection of choral music and if you are celebrating infant Baptism this summer, the SATB arrangement can be used by having two solo voices sing the soprano part of sections scored for choir. There is a reproducible congregational part included in the anthem if you wish to have them join in singing

While this is not based on a familiar hymn tune, the text is well known. “Peace I leave with you, peace I give to you, peace, shalom….” It is available in a variety of choral arrangements, Two-part Mixed and piano (BP2262), SATB (BP2242), SSA (BP2243), TBB (BP 2244) and Duet (BP 2242V). Because of the variety of arrangements available, this can be a valuable addition to most church choral libraries.
