Newsletter: Pete Kirby reported the contract with the Virginia Firefighter newsletter came to an end. He had been searching for other ways to partner with other organizations at a low cost. Past May visit fire expo in Harrisburg PA. Found a publisher who may be willing to partner with us. They are publishing this newspaper in several states in NW. They are not in Virginia and are willing to launch a VA fire news edition. If this moves forward, there will be a cost to the Association. Some focus on postage for sending the publication out on a bi-monthly basis. Hopefully will be able to send 5 to 6 copies to all departments in the association. If goes through will have dedicated sections for our department news. Will be 36 to 40 pages. 1 fire vendor already wants to advertise in it. If you are interested in looking at the newspaper Pete has 2 copies. You can get with him throughout the conference and let him know what you think. Election of Officers: The floor was opened at this time for nominations for each office. After 3 announcements for nominations for each office a motion was made to close nominations. Results are as follows: Jimmy Byer was nominated for President – Charlie Singleton made motion for nominations be closed, Buddy Smith 2 nd . Motion passed New Business: No new business to report
