Website: Larry Gwaltney reported he had been doing updates with website and Facebook getting a lot of hits on firefighter appreciation night. Larry Logan said if you see something on Facebook and you like it share it that is how information get out. If you see something that needs improvement, or fixing email Larry and he will change. Office depot savings plans is listed on our website. Membership management – Looking at doing a trail membership for 30 days, and don’t think it will work for us due to our dues structure. Will be looking at paying dues on line. Number of organizations that offer different programs for Membership Management, Maryland Association is having one built out of Richmond, VA. Company First Arriving is meeting with Maryland. Larry meeting with Kate from Maryland this week to see if they are similar and maybe we can partner with them. President Byer said Scott Cain had some issues and he was not getting into that. As of now he was putting Scott Cain on the website with Larry Gwaltney and both will serve as Co-chairs, so they can together work on some of these issues to get resolved. Ken Brown said that it would be a good idea if the elected Officers would be giving an email address that belongs to the association. Jimmy said Scott wanted him to bring up to assign email addresses so when you switch offices the next person in line will have access to all those emails the previous officer had.

Communications: Sandy Byer reported that Scott had given her several applications for membership:

Dale Jamison made motion to accept these applications for membership David Akers 2 nd Approved

So far Scott had collected dues from 211 departments.

Unfinished Business: Fireball Whiskey : Jeff Flippo reported the representative from Fireball contacted him and they failed to send a check so he sent all the information to Mike and Mike said he sent everything they asked for. Jeff ask Mike to resend it again and Jeff does not know the final amount Lawyer Services : Mike Masciola said there is a gentleman in their department that we could talk to if we needed to. Newsletter : Pete Kirby has been looking for someone to recruit vendors and potential partner to reestablish our newsletter. There is an organization that wants to possibly start a newspaper in Virginia and wants to attend our next executive committee meeting this fall to discuss this possibility. Will probably cost us money to start this and they will generate enough to pay for our part and their part in advertising and in the future maybe be able to get a return on vendors. Can use as a tool to generate interest in recruitment and retention. Mike Reilley wanted to know if they would be interested in partnering with other organizations. Pete gave an overall on the discussion he had with them. Pete will invite this gentleman to our November 3 meeting.
