Had several people who had not registered for the conference and they went into the classrooms to make sure that they had. Conference Update: Larry Gwaltney report there are no changes in schedule or times. Vendors are setting up this afternoon and will open tomorrow. We are down vendors this year. Next year will need help of the vendor committee to encourage vendors to participate in conference. Have 532 people registered so far for the conference. Cornhole tournament will be held on Friday afternoon at the vendors reception. Truck Rodeo: Larry Gwaltney reported that Allen Brennan will not be able to attend the conference due to hospital and rehab stays. 1 st conference he has missed in 54 years. Truck rodeo will be in the same location. Registration will be at the VFIS booth. Rules & Contest: Buster Insley reported had a rules and contest meeting in April in Charlottesville. Looking at making some changes with doing away with the truck. Team captains meeting moved to 3:00. Will show video on new way of doing one of the contests. Tower had been worked on. Larry Logan said that one of the brass couplings are bent and cannot find any for brass couplings. Jimmy Byer said they will check this out and he thought this was switched out last year. EMS Contest: EMS contest will be held this year and Chesterfield will be sponsoring as usual with T-shirts and trophies. Next year will not be having the EMS contest when we go with VAVRS. Looking to maybe have something for the future for the kids. Souvenir Sales: Gary Allred reported that the shirts are ready to go and we are working on to be able to accept credit cards. Will be selling challenge coins at our booth. Wayne Grimsley suggested to do a challenge coin challenge maybe in the near future like every 3 to 5 years. Hall of Fame: Dickie Harris reported that had no applications for awards was submitted. Had one application for the Hall of Fame did not receive until July 12. Deadline was July 1. Will be resubmitted next year. Liaison VSFCA: Kevin Duck gave a report on Fire Chiefs Expo. July 11 vendor registration opened and 80% of the vendors spaces are sold out. Have several small spaces left. Annual Sound the Alarm Summit will be held September 17 in Chesterfield. Annual Company Officer Summit will be November 15 and 16 in Staunton. Virginia Foundation Board Golf tournament September in Williamsburg and west part of the state in October.

NFVC Directors: Ken Brown reported that the next meeting will be 19-22 in South Dakota.

Fire Prevention: Jeff Flippo reported he attended the Virginia Fire Prevention general Membership meeting in May and pledged our support to them on any fire prevention matters. Got a new lobbyist who is associated with David Bailey.

Auxiliary Liaison: No Report

EMS Advisory Board: Bryon Andrews reported the board meets tomorrow and Friday. His term has expired and had not heard if he will be reappointed. EMS Symposium opened up yesterday.
