Association Districts: District I – Northampton and Accomack; District II – Surry, Sussex, Greenville, Nansemond, Isle of Wright, Southampton, Chesapeake (City), Virginia Beach (City) and Norfolk (City); District III – Brunswick, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Charlotte, Halifax and Campbell; District IV – Pittsylvania, Franklin, Henry, Patrick, Floyd and Montgomery; District V – Carroll, Grayson, Pulaski, Giles, Bland, Wythe, Tazewell and Smyth; District VI – Washington, Russell, Buchanan, Scott, Dickerson, Wise and Lee; District VII – Bedford, Roanoke, Craig, Botetourt and Alleghany; District VIII – Appomattox, Prince Edward, Buckingham, Amelia, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Powhatan, Nottoway and Goochland; District IX – Henrico, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Charles City; District X – Middlesex, Mathews, Gloucester, James City, York, Hampton (City), Newport News (City), Northumberland and Lancaster; District XI – New Kent, King William, King & Queen, Essex, King George, Westmoreland, Caroline, Hanover and Richmond; District XII – Loudoun, Fauquier, Prince William, Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria (City), Stafford, Fairfax (City) and Falls Church (City); District XIII – Culpeper, Madison, Greene, Orange, Albemarle, Louisa and Spotsylvania; District XIV – Highland, Bath, Augusta, Rockbridge, Amherst and Nelson; District XV – Rockingham, Page, Rappahannock, Warren, Clarke, Frederick and Shenandoah. Section 3. Election of all officers shall be held annually; the same to be the last business of the annual meeting. Each of the newly elected officers of the Virginia State Firefighter's Association shall be duly installed and obligated in their proper offices at the annual convention of the Association by an Installing Officer immediately after the annual election. The Installing Officer shall be the Chaplain who shall first be installed by the Parliamentarian. The Oath of Office shall be: I do accept the office of the same now placed upon me without mental reservation. I promise to perform my duties without fear or favor to the best of my ability. Having in mind the good of the Association and its membership, I will counsel with the other officers as to the best course to pursue at all times. Seal Seal Chaplain Parliamentarian (Installing Officer) Note (2): Instruction to the Installing Officer; all elected officers will stand with right hand over their heart, state their name and office to which elected and in unison repeat after the Installing Officer the oath of office. Section 4. All elections shall be by a roll call vote of those companies/departments/rescue squads present, and no one shall be declared elected unless he receives a majority of the votes cast. In all cases the candidates receiving the lowest number of votes shall be dropped until an election is reached; if four or more candidates are nominated for any office, then the two lowest candidates shall be dropped on the first ballot and the election shall continue by dropping the lowest candidate until an election is reached. Any officer can be re- elected to succeed himself in office, except as provided in Section 1 of this Article. Section 5. Any officer may be removed from office for continually absenting himself from the meeting of this Association or for inattention to the duties pertaining to his office or for malfeasance in office or for conduct unbecoming a firefighter, but shall not be so removed except by a majority vote of all members of the Executive Committee present at a regular meeting. The secretary shall forthwith in writing notify such officer who shall have the right to appear before the Executive Committee in his defense at their regular meeting.

ARTICLE 3 DUTIES OF OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTMEN

Section 1. It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Committee, to decide all points of order and appoint all committees. The President shall be reimbursed to cover expenses in the exercise of their duties and shall submit an itemized expense voucher for same; it being the intention of this section that the President shall serve without compensation and only be reimbursed for his expenses.
