Folk Rhythms

One of the main characteristics of art rock as a musical style is the addition of experimental rhythms - the reference to the beginnings of music composition and the interweaving of long structures with several themes. One of the basic and historical symbols of Ukrainian culture is embroidery. Over many decades people have developed the traditions, principles, and rules for creating vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts in Ukrainian costumes). Each region of Ukraine has its own peculiarities of embroidered patterns. Thus, the Kharkiv region where I live is distinguished by natural motifs: Flowers, berries, and the tree of life. This painting combines the main characteristics of art rock and Ukrainian culture, harmoniously intertwined according to the rules of composition as an artistic medium. The classical rhythm of embroidery is a strip of patterns that runs along the circumference of the sleeve, bending around the arm. If you give the embroidery an experimental rhythm and other signs of art rock, you get a group of repeating natural elements (in this case, rosary flowers, lilies, a bunch of grapes and their leaves, an ear of wheat and parts of the branches of the tree of life) arranged in a spiral, gradually decreasing in size from the center.
