Musical Stork “Musical Stork” was created in the city of Dnipro. It embodies a lot of symbols and signs. This painting is a Ukrainian symbol of well being, love, and hope. Musical notes are shown on the wings, and when they are opened, the painting sparkles with new colors. The idea is to combine Ukrainian symbolism and music - to show how different Ukrainian culture is. This is a modern integration of words into a painting because it is not necessary to speak in order to convey the meaning of what was said. Different colors are used; however, the main ones are blue and yellow. These colors are our national colors - they are shown as a symbol of invincibility. “I decided to take part in the RESTORE UKRAINE’s exhibitions because I value the place where I was born and wanted to reflect in my work what every Ukrainian feels now. No matter what, art says more than words spoken aloud. Therefore, in my work, music and symbolism reflect everything that cannot be silenced.” Anastasia Shakhmatova was born in Mariupol in 2001. She studied at an art school for 9 years from 2010 to 2019. After, she entered the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. She completed her third year of study as an interior and landscape designer.
