A Note of Thanks Thanks be to God for the grace and presence of the Holy Spirit among us today!

Thank you to everyone who has made this beautiful day of celebration and new beginnings possible. The dedication and service of the Search and Transition Committees, the Standing Committee, and the Diocesan Staff have been remarkable, and I am in awe of the time and talents you have shared over the past year. These faithful servants have blessed our diocese in a season of transition and discernment, and I am incredibly grateful for them all. Thank you to everyone serving in the liturgy or helping in other ways today and to all of you who are here to join the celebration. Thank you especially to my family, old and new friends, and our diocesan partners in mission and ministry who join us today. Thank you to Alexander, Peter, and Maggie. Your love, support, and encouragement sustain me and keep me grounded every day. I would not be the person I am without you, and I am blessed beyond measure to have you all in my life. Finally, to all my beloved siblings in Christ in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, thank you for the confidence and faith you have placed in me by calling me to be your bishop, to serve you, lead you, and walk alongside you as we discern where the Holy Spirit is calling us together in community and in mission.
