Ruritan National Annual Report 2023-2024

Delegates have a WHITE name badge. Non-delegates have a BLUE name badge. Only delegates will be allowed to vote. The Chair asked George Brothers, Bylaws Committee Chair to come to the podium. The Bylaws Committee will answer any questions concerning the bylaws that the delegates will be voting on. The ballot items were addressed in order. Ballot Item No. 1: James Mills, County Line Ruritan Club, Georgia-North Alabama District spoke to defeat the motion. (Talking points available from the National Office) Ballot No. 2: David Thompson, National Treasurer and the Budget and Finance Committee joined George at the podium. David Thompson clarified the bottom line listed in the annual report, $117,000 is attributed to Ruritan Forever endowments which are restricted. The bottom line is $20,000. There were no additional comments. Ballot No. 4: James Mills, County Line Ruritan Club, Georgia-North Alabama District. Spoke to defeat this ballot item. Two submitted appeals: Submitted appeal No. 1 – James Mills, County Line Ruritan Club, Georgia North Alabama District, spoke to 3 rd bullet point and to support the appeal. (Talking points available from the National Office.) Michael asks 2023 Foundation President Phillip Bradshaw to come to the podium and give a report on the foundation. Philip gave a report of the Foundation. Philip introduced and thanked the Foundation Trustees for their work. Foundation is here to work for you and encourage everyone to invest in the foundation. The Foundation celebrated their 55 th anniversary in 2023. Philip reminded everyone of the live auction at 5:00 pm this evening. The Foundation’s five-year program taking them to their 60 th anniversary is “Invest in the future”. At the end of the five years, those that donate will have a permanent fund. The Foundation currently has $5.2M invested. Philip reported on the Build your Dollar program. 429 clubs claimed the build your dollar program last year. This year 501 clubs have invested in the program. $675 will be given back this year to each club that invested $300. The more clubs that invest, the more that can give back. Ballot No. 3: Dues and Fees. No comments. Steve Meadows, Chesterfield Club, Appomattox District, spoke to defeat this appeal. Jayson Duncan, Germantown Club, Piedmont District, spoke to support this appeal. Caroll Keller, Bergton Club, Rockingham District. spoke to support the appeal.
