Saturday Business Sessions. Strike from the program on page 20, the welcome from Winston Salem as the Mayor attended the opening ceremony on Thursday evening. The Chair restated that the motion is to adopt the Convention Program, including the Convention Standing Rules and Business Session Agendas with the striking of the welcome from Winston Salem on page 20. Ruritan delegates will approve the Friday Business Meeting Agenda on page 20 and the Saturday Business Meeting Agenda on pages 26 - 27, along with the Standing Rules of the National Convention on pages 58-60. Delegates are reminded that when voting to adopt the convention program, they will also be voting on whether to adopt the standing rules or not. Is there any discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor say “Aye.” All opposed say “NO.” The Ayes have it, and I declare the motion adopted. The Chair called upon 2022 National President Glen Broadwater, Chair of the Nominating Committee, for his report. A listing of nominees at the time of printing appears on page 50 of the program book. A copy of the committee’s report is on file at the National Office. Nominating Committee Chair Glen Broadwater announced that the nominee for Foundation Trustee is Alex Sowers (WV). The Chair opened the floor for additional nominations for Foundation Trustee. Hearing none, nominations were declared closed for Foundation Trustee. Nominating Committee Chair Glen Broadwater announced the nominees for National Directors are: Leon Alt, WV Raymond Cade, LA Debi Davis, NC Patty Hamilton, WV The Chair opened the floor for additional nominations for Foundation Trustee. Hearing none, nominations were declared closed for National Director. Nominating Committee Chair Glen Broadwater announced that Rebecca Lane (WV) is a nominee for National President-Elect. The Chair opened the floor for additional nominations for National President-Elect. Hearing none, nominations were declared closed for National Director. Candidates nominated for each position were allowed to speak to the delegates for up to two minutes each. The Chair reminded attendees that delegate certification is open today until 12:00 p.m. Everyone must be certified by 12:00 p.m. to be able to vote. Voting will start immediately after the First Family Fellowship Luncheon. All delegates with an email address will receive a link to cast their ballot electronically. If you feel uncomfortable voting electronically, paper Scantron ballots will be passed out and available immediately after the Friday Luncheon in this room.
