MINUTES OF THE 92nd RURITAN NATIONAL ANNUAL CONVENTION Friday Business Meeting, Winston-Salem, NC January 12, 202 4

START TIME: 8:30 a.m. PRESIDING: 2023 National President Michael Morrison National Secretary Juliann Poff presented the announcements. Convention Program Chair, 1998 National President Gary Taylor, welcomed the attendees to Winston-Salem, NC. National Director Perry Marshman gave the invocation. National Treasurer David Thompson introduced National President Michael Morrison escorted by the first-year directors John Biery, Roger Carter, Larry Garrison, Billy Hobbs, Merlin Scales, and Jim Zehr. National President Mike (Chair) welcomed everyone to Winston-Salem. The chair stated that the first order of business is a report from the Credentials Committee. Delegates wishing to record the information will find a blank report on the inside of the back cover of the program. National Secretary Juliann Poff reported that as of Friday, January 12, 2024, there were: Pre-Registered 423 Walk-ins 15 Cancellations 13 Total Registered 425 Certified Delegates 408 Mr. President, on behalf of the Credentials Committee, I move the adoption of this first credentials report. The Chair restated the motion and asked the delegates if there were any questions. Hearing none, all those in favor of adopting the Credentials Report, say “Aye.” Those opposed, say “No.” The ayes have it and the Credentials Report is adopted. The Chair called on Convention Program Chair, 2007 National President Jimmy Bristow who presented President Mike with a copy of the convention program. He reported that a printed copy of the program is in the hands of each registrant for the convention. Mr. President, on behalf of the Convention Program Committee, we move for the approval of the program, which includes the Convention Standing Rules and the agendas for the Friday and At the time of the report, 70 badges had yet to be picked up.
