C ALL FOR M ANUSCRIPTS , S PECIAL - I SSUE V IRGINIA M ATHEMATICS T EACHER J OURNAL : T EACHING D URING A P ANDEMIC Crisis situations call for extraordinary adaptation and we have all experienced this first hand with the COVID 19 pandemic. As mathematics teachers, we experienced new teaching environments that requires new practi tioner methods. In this Special Issue of the Virginia Mathematics Teacher Journal – Teaching During a Pan demic , we welcome the submission of manuscripts on various topics in mathematics that required you to alter your normal teaching practices with a particular focus on how styles and standards of your practice were influ enced by the COVID - 19 pandemic. All submitted articles should be a single - spaced Word document in 12 pt. Times New Roman font with APA style citations and references. Please submit your manuscripts to the Virginia Mathematics Teacher using the instructions at https://help.scholasticahq.com/article/72 - author - guide, with the appropriate subject line. The deadline is October 30th, 2020 . Virginia residents whose articles appear in the VMT will be granted free membership to the VCTM for one year.

Unsolved Mathematical Mysteries

We are accepting articles that include teachers ’ reflections on mathematical topics you find chal lenging to teach. If you have a difficult problem or topic you use for your students, describe the prob lem, discuss common student difficulties with it, and the way you approach teaching this topic. Subject line : Teaching Dilemmas We are accepting papers on elementary, middle, andsecondary mathematics teaching and educa tion. Articles will be peer - reviewed and com ments will be shared with the author. Please provide articles in a Word document no more than 5 pages (not including corresponding images, graphs, etc.). We are accepting articles about fascinating math ematical problems that have not yet been solved. The problem itself should be described simply so that a middle school student could understand it. It should also include the progress that has been made by the mathematics community on solving this problem. Subject line : Unsolved Mathematical Mysteries

What does your school district or institution do to encourage girls in mathematics? Send any information or publications related to girls in

mathematics education. Subject line : Math Girls

Busting Blockbusters
