INCOME Charter Fees – Charter Fees are paid to Ruritan National when a club is formed. Dues – Dues are paid quarterly in January, April, July, and October.

Ruritan Forever Endowment – When a member, living or deceased receives a Ruritan Forever perpetual membership the money is segregated into a separate fund. This fund is used to produce income for payment of the members dues. Dues are paid for the life of the member and then perpetually. Once a member dies the dues generated are posted to the endowment income line. Associate Member Dues – Dues paid quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Ruritan Student Associate Member Dues are included in this line – Dues are paid quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Ruri-Teen Member Dues – Affiliation fee is due once a school year (due by January 10) at $100 for Ruri-Teen club and $150 for a college club. Ruritan Youth Dues – Dues are paid quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Initiation Fees – New members pay a $5 initiation fee to the club. The club in turn remits $3 of the fee to Ruritan National. Merchandise Sales Gross – Sale of Ruritan apparel, and specialty items (cups, pens, etc.), materials for club use, road signs, Rudy Bears, etc. Magazine Advertising – Income from advertisements placed in the Ruritan Magazine. Capital Replacement Donations – Donations received from districts, clubs, and individuals for capital replacement projects. Interest – Income generated on bank and investment accounts. Unrealized Gain/Loss – Gains/loss on investments at a specific date. Gains and Losses are only realized if in fact the investiments are sold at that time. Foundation – The Ruritan National Foundation operates from the Ruritan National Office. The Foundation annually reimburses Ruritan National to offset the cost of operations. Other – For any other income that Ruritan National receives. EXPENDITURES Executive Director Salary Salaries and Wages – Includes all National Office Staff except the Executive Director. Taxes and Employee Benefits – Federal & State income tax, social security, medicare, insurance, retirement. Office – Includes utilities, telephone, postage, supplies, maintenance, Holland memorial upkeep, equipment rental, and service. Capital Replacement Expense – Expenses that occur when replacing Capital items Other Administration – Federal and State unrelated business income tax, sales and use taxes, bank charges, bonding, professional auditing, legal services, computer programming, employee education. President’s Travel – Expenses for the travel of the National President President Elect’s Travel – Expenses for the travel of the National President Elect. Other Travel – Officers, staff, and non board committee travel. Growth and Development – Includes membership marketing (public service announcements, billboards, statics, audio and video,) publicity and public relations, area zone governors, expansion, growth awards, and allowances. Director’s Travel – Expenses for the travel of the National Directors. District and Club – Includes awards and officer pins, refund of 10% of dues collected to districts, district and club supplies (kit material) and shipping, liability insurance, summer leadership conference, youth conference, governors expenses to national convention, travel by area zone governors, district officer training meals and materials, magazine to members. Depreciation/Uncollected Dues Expense - Depreciation of office equipment and disbanded club expenses. Cost of Goods Sold – Cost to purchase merchandise for resale.
