In 1968, Bland Street Methodist left, what some have considered downtown Bluefield ’ s most beautiful church building, designed by renowned architect, Alex Mahood, whose family were members of Bland Street, and now Bland Street would be located on Bland Road, but would still be known as Bland Street Methodist Church.

Great new relationships developed by singing in the choir, playing hand bells, serving on the Missions committee, and being selected to be an elder. In each area, I met people who love the Lord and are committed to serving him; and none of them were “ frozen ” but warm and loving children of God.

and in 1969, and move to South Bluefield to property that had been known as “ Lake Place. ”

Lifetime friends, mission trips, a renovated church building and so many opportunities to serve and grow. “ Growing faithful, fruitful followers of Jesus Christ ” had a nice ring to it. Was that us? Apparently, it was, and God continues to grow us up. Thank you, Jesus! So many memories and so
