They Just Don't Get It!

You can hang posters, share goals, and talk about values all day—but if your behavior doesn't match, the message falls flat. Culture is defined daily in:

- What gets attention - What gets ignored - How leaders respond under pressure - What's tolerated—and what isn't

But beyond individual actions, people are watching for consistency. Do they know what they're going to get when they interact with you? Can they predict how you'll respond to problems, conflicts, or pressure? Do they see a constant connection between your words and deeds? Consistency flows from authenticity. I've seen too many leaders try to be all things to all people— supportive with some, demanding with others, data driven in meetings but intuition-based on the floor. It's awkward and ineffective because people can't predict what version of you they'll encounter.
