The pages were gilt-edged and, young enough, I wondered if it might be real, but I discovered when I turned a page in the book it was almost as if the edge was uncoated. It was only when

several pressed together the gold began to show. I was curious about why when the book was closed, pages unreadable, the gold was brightest. The book held cumulative riches, I found.
