Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy Sauce

Ingredients Meat: 1 lb. ground beef ½ 1 tbsp. minced onion ¼

C breadcrumbs

C milk 1 egg

1 tsp. salt

dash of pepper

Instructions: Combined all ingredients except mushroom gravy sauce. Shape into 4 to 6 patties (thick). Cook in skillet with a little olive oil until brown on both sides. Add mushroom gravy sauce by pouring over patties. Cover and cook on low for 20 minutes. Turn patties halfway through.

Mushroom gravy sauce: 2 cups fresh mushrooms

2 C vegetable broth

4 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper to taste

cup flour

Cook fresh mushrooms in butter into soft in a medium skillet. Add salt and pepper. Set cooked mushrooms aside. Melt butter then add flour. Cook butter and flour for 3 minutes then add vegetable broth until medium thick, add mushroom back into gravy, cook for a couple more minutes.

Emma’s Famous Chili

Ingredients: 2 tbsps. olive oil 1 onion chopped fine 1 clove minced, OR 1 tsp. garlic powder 2 lbs. ground beef 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can. tomato soup, and 1 can soup water 1 package McCormick’s Hot Chili Seasoning Mix Extra water as needed (1 tbsp. at a time)

Instructions: Sauté together, the olive oil, onion, and garlic. Add 2 lbs. ground beef, cook until browned, drain off grease. Add 1 (10 ¾ oz) can tomato soup, 1 soup can water, and 1 pkg McCormick’s Hot Chili Seasoning Mix. Cook covered over very low heat one hour, stirring occasionally. Add 1 TBS of water at a time if appears too dry. Tasty on hamburger buns or as a topping for chili dogs!
