Ingredients: See steps for amounts of each: All-purpose flour Paprika 2 lbs. Cubed Steak Oil Salt and pepper Cream of chicken soup Minced OR Dried onions Baking powder Poultry seasoning

Celery seed Poppy seed Milk Butter Breadcrumbs

Instructions:

To prepare the steak approximately 2 lbs. of cube steak. Mix enough all-purpose flour, salt and pepper to taste, and paprika together and dredge both sides of steak. Coat very well. In large skillet heat ¼ cup of oil and brown steak on both sides. Remove from pan and put into a casserole dish set aside. Recommended: Before adding to casserole dish, cut into smaller pieces.

To prepare the gravy, in same skillet combine the following:

2 family size cans of cream of chicken soup or 4 regular cans of cream of chicken soup, and 1 – 2 teaspoons of dried onion flakes or minced onion. Mix soup with water (same amount of water per cans of soup) and heat. Pour over steak – reserve some of this mixture and add to casserole during baking as needed. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or, until steak is tender and soup mixture is cooked into meat. 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 4 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning, 1 teaspoon of minced onion, 1 teaspoon of celery seed, 1 tablespoon of poppy seed. Stir together ¼ cup of oil and 1 cup of whole milk; add to flour mixture. 1/2 cup of plain breadcrumbs mixed with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Drop tablespoons of the above mixture into bread crumb mixture and roll around until well coated. Place dumplings on top of steak casserole and increase oven temperature to 425 degrees. Bake for about 20 – 25 minutes or until the dumplings have browned. Remove from oven and use remaining soup mixture (heat to boil) to pour over the casserole or serve on the side. Mom prepared this casserole for dad every year on their anniversary. It was his favorite and became a favorite of many others over the years. For the dumplings, in the same skillet:
