Fellow members and guests, I want to welcome each of you to the 77 th Annual Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association Convention. I hope that you and your families enjoy the activities and events scheduled for this year’s convention. It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve as the president of the association this past year. I am humbled and proud to have served in this capacity and am overwhelmed with all the outpouring of support and encouragement from everyone. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members and family of Dublin Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Convention Committee for your dedication, support, and hard work that you have put into making this year’s convention happen! I also want to give special thanks to my beautiful wife Teresa, for all her support and encouragement. A very special thank you to the vendors and sponsors that made the convention possible! We are truly blessed to have such amazing agencies and organizations that support our association every year. Also, to the staff of the Meadowview Marriot for your support and professionalism. I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend and enjoys the brotherhood and fellowship of likeminded individuals who are always striving to make the fire service better than they found it. If anyone needs anything or has any questions or concerns during the convention, please get with any Dublin Fire Department member or member of the convention committee for assistance. Whether on the front lines or in the board room...
...we’ll be there. Employment-related lawsuits, like discrimination and wrongful termination, are becoming increasingly common for emergency service organizations. VFIS’s Management Liability Insurance covers all department employees and volunteers, including board members, commissioners and trustees, while they’re acting on behalf of the organization. Our heroes deserve the best protection we can provide.
There in the moments that matter.
