Report Writer Scripting Overview

• Scripts can be used to add a variety of functionality to a report • Common uses: • Numbering of Tables and Figures – keeping a running numbering going • Suppressing outputs in unique and complicated situations (One of the more common operations) (Cancel the band) • Accessing entities, attributes and relations directly from the GENESYS database • i.e. Selecting multiple target entities in a table cell • Accepting user inputs at report runtime (parameters, setup options, etc..) • Executing operations on entities - for example calculating the Risk rating, etc.
