Meditation: Moses ascribed yet another name for God in Exodus 17:15, Jehovah Nissi — The Lord my banner. As God’s child and namesake, every believer goes forth in this world as an ambassador for Christ to bear the banner of the cros s and God’s sufficiency. Waving faith as the flag of victory only comes as lives are lived…  In the righteousness of Christ (Romans 14:16-17a-b)

 In joy for the journey (Romans 14:17d)

I sought a flag to follow, A cause for which to stand, I sought a valiant leader, Who could my love command; I sought a stirring challenge, Some noble work to try, To give my life fulfillment, My dreams to satisfy. I found them all in Jesus, The Life, the Truth, the Way; Beneath His flag I’ll take my stand And follow Him today.
