4. Creation — All that Water ?

Scripture:

Genesis 5:29

Hymn:

“Near to the Heart of God”

Meditation: God’s great flood receded very quickly from a muddy earth as the tectonic plates moved to open the deep crevasses of the ocean depths. Imagine the turmoil of those waters forming the great canyons and lakes as the continents rose and mountain ranges forming as the earth’s crust jolted. Yet, the ark of God was safe with Noah’s faithful family and animal life sustained to repopulate the world. Noah must have been a tremendous comforter before, during, and after the flood…  As he walked daily with God. (Genesis 6:8-9)  As he shared God’s blessings . (Genesis 6:18-19)  A s he heeded God’s call. (Genesis 6:22)

Lord, speak to me, that I may speak In living echoes of Thy tone; As Thou hast sought, so let me seek Thy erring children lost and lone. O fill me with Thy fullness, Lord, Until my very heart o’er flow In kindling tho’t and glowing word, Thy love to tell, Thy praise to show. O use me, Lord, use even me, Just as Thou wilt, and when, and where; Until Thy blessed face I see, Thy rest, Thy joy, Thy glory share.
