Buildings and Grounds Changes Several changes occurred during 2010 to 2019 to maintain the beauty of the buildings and grounds at NRCC in Dublin and at the Christiansburg site. Construction to relocate the college entrance from Route 11 to improve safety began late in November 2013 and was completed in November 2015. New electronic signs were placed on college entrances on Route 11, Route 100, and at the Christiansburg site. On the campus grounds, a solar/wind park was constructed, geo-thermal heat pumps were installed, and parking lots were modified to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The installation of new door locks in classrooms for increased security was completed, and new furniture for several areas on campus was purchased. The counseling area in Rooker, the Word Processing Center in Godbey, and the Division of Business and Technologies office in Edwards received new carpet. Other changes included the replacement of HVAC systems in Godbey and Rooker Halls, refurbishment of the Distance

Changes in Technology NRCC’s campus. In 2011 all faculty and staff workstations and computer labs were equipped with new computers containing the latest Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows 7. The college’s backbone network was upgraded to 10 gigabits per second, and a new Oracle database server was installed. Also in 2011, security video cameras were installed in hallways; and old Cisco telephones were replaced with new ones. Interactive televisions in four classrooms and the media cart and presentation system in Edwards Hall Room 117 were updated to high definition. The Research and Assessment Data Support System (RADSS) and the Productivity Analysis System (PAS), two new systems developed in house and used by administration, were implemented. In 2013 each faculty member was assigned an iPad, and each classroom was equipped with Apple TV capabilities. EAB Navigate, a student success management system launched in 2018, allowed students to schedule appointments with college it apart. The entire team is dedicated to fostering a positive workplace culture, where everyone feels valued and encouraged to grow. What makes NRCC stand out is its unwavering commitment to being student centric. Every decision and effort are made with the students’ success and well-being in mind, creating a fulfilling and rewarding atmosphere for both staff and students alike.
