Several full-time employees retired or were reassigned between 2000 and 2009. 2000 • Martha J. (M. J.) Kanagy Kanagy, assistant professor and college advancement officer, joined the faculty in 1986. 2001 • Roger M. Adkins • Rita H. Dixon • Helen M. Harvey • Margaret (Maxine) M. Jones • Edith M. Ruben Adkins, lecturer, lead retraining coordinator, and an NRCC graduate, joined as a faculty member at Vo-Tech in 1959 before it became New River Community College in 1969; Dixon, assistant professor and director of student development programs, in 1976; Harvey, professor and director of workforce development, in 1972; Jones, fiscal technician, in 1987; and Ruben, associate professor of mathematics and a graduate of NRCC, in 1971. In 2001 due to restructuring, the work force development staff was reassigned to the Division of Business and Technologies.
