Planning for Document Parsing

Each source document is different in its content and structure. Consequently, one needs to plan the strategy for extracting requirements. • Identify requirement document passages where requirement statements cluster – why did the customer group certain requirements together? • Identify other classes involved in the extraction process • Plan to remove parsed requirement statements with empty descriptions and plan to “fill in” some empty descriptions with combined requirement statements; to create a “composite” requirement • Know how to distinguish a functional requirement from a performance requirement • Know how to distinguish a constraint requirement from a functional requirement

Open the Document Parser

Use “HOME” Ribbon Bar. Select “Document Parser”

- which opens the Document Parser dialog box.

Clicking “Select” button allows for creation of new DOCUMENT entity to capture the source document. (see next slide)

NOTE: Class and Folder into which items will be placed.
