Docs Rock Fashion 2018

From white coats to black ties.

April 14 • Roanoke Country Club

For 44 years, the Bradley Free Clinic has provided free healthcare to the Roanoke Valley’s low-income uninsured with medical, mental health, dental, and pharmacy services. The amazing team of volunteer healthcare professionals, combined with the generosity of faithful donors, enables the Clinic to meet the healthcare needs of those who lack the resources. The Clinic is expanding and developing new programs to better meet the changing needs of the patients and the community with a Wellness Advocate Program, Diabetes Management, Access to Dental Days, and the RV HOPE Initiative. These programs offer the patients and the community support and education for diet and exercise, diabetic education, better access to dental needs, and resources for those with substance use disorders.

Funding for these programs continues to come from donations in the community and fundraising events like Docs Rock Fashion.

Emcee Bios & Thank You

We’re delighted to welcome Neesey Payne as a co-host of Docs Rock. Neesey is the bright, bubbly personality reporting on the WDBJ7 Mornin’ show. A native of Pulaski, she attended Radford University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Media Studies in 2010. Neesey worked in radio and print media before joining WDBJ7 in 2013.

She loves to read, blog, cook, shop (she has one big shoe collection), and is passionate about inspiring kids to follow their dreams. Neesey is the perfect co-host of Docs Rock fashion as it combines her love of shopping with her love of building a better community.

David Page returned to Q99 in 2000 to co-host the morning show with Dick Daniels after working as an assignment editor at NBC 17 and as a member of the morning show on WDCG-G105FM in Raleigh, North Carolina. He had previously worked at Q99 from 1993 to 1995.

In his spare time, Dave enjoys playing golf and cheering on his USC Trojans and Los Angeles Dodgers. He is originally from Long Beach, California and served in the Army for 10 years. Dave resides in Roanoke with his wife Michele and their beagle Penelope.

“Without tonight’s emcees, this event would not be possible. Thank you, neesey and David, for your dedication to our community and your enthusiasm and support for the Bradley Free Clinic.”

Meet & Greet with Beth Macy From the New York Times bestselling author of Factory Man comes the only book to fully chart the opioid crisis in America, an unforgettable portrait of the families and first responders on the front lines. In this masterful work, Beth Macy takes us into the epicenter of America’s twenty-plus year struggle with opioid addiction. From distressed small communities in Central Appalachia to wealthy suburbs; from disparate cities to once-idyllic farm towns; it’s a heartbreaking trajectory that illustrates how this national crisis has persisted for so long and become so firmly entrenched. Join Beth Macy at Valhalla Vineyards on beautiful Chestnut Mountain on October 4. Appetizers and drink tickets included. You will also be included in a drawing for a Valhalla Winery tour. An Afternoon of Pastels Painting & Pool Enjoy a summer afternoon relaxing in beautiful gardens and by the pool. You will begin the afternoon painting a still life with soft pastels under the tutelage of local artist Anne Pfeiffer. Anne will set up still lifes in natural light and teach you how to draw what you see, recognize how light affects colors, and how to use neighboring colors to create form and interest. Everyone will complete one or two paintings to take home, and gain an understanding of seeing like an artist. After you have completed your masterpiece, you can enjoy time socializing around the pool so be sure to bring your bathing suit and towel. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer are included.
