Saturday @ Diocesan Convention January 27, 2024 Hotel Roanoke, Roanoke, Virginia

Afternoon Workshops – Following Lunch on Saturday at 1:15 PM

Rise Against Hunger Food Pack – Shenandoah Room Y@C and Diocesan Adults are being offered the opportunity to do our part in tackling food insecurity across the globe by partnering with Rise Against Hunger for a food packing event during the workshop hour. Our goal is 20,800 meals in 1.5 hours and we need your help! "Showing Jesus to All People"! Most of us can't crisscross the world distributing food to those who are suffering from hunger, but we can support the organizations that do.

Becoming Beloved Community: A Native History of Mission at Bear Mountain – Buck Mountain Room

Youth@Convention alum Bradley Branham returns to Roanoke as our guest speaker. Bradley will talk about the history of the Monacan Indian Nation and his own life story which features tribal life and growing up at St Paul’s, Bear Mountain, a parish in our Diocese. Participants will hear examples of past and present mission in action at Bear Mountain and within the larger community, including recent Land Acknowledgement engagements.

Stewardship: An Intentional, Annual Process of Prayer – Mill Mountain Room Stewardship is a prayer-filled ministry that occurs all year and involves spiritual intentionality. This workshop will explore annual stewardship cycle in a parish based on the College for Bishop's Project Resource materials. Participants will engage with a panel of lay and clergy leaders familiar with Project Resource from across the Diocese. Discussion will focus on creating a calendar of events and activities that are appropriate for different size parishes.
