CO. 4-H PROGRAMS DIG IN: GARDENING WORKSHOP Location: Recreation Community Garden – 1525 Roanoke St. (beside of Dude’s Drive-In), Christiansburg Minimum: 5 Maximum: 16 Additional Information: Join us for a hands-on gardening workshop where youth learn the essentials of growing and nurturing their own garden! This workshop will cover everything from selecting the right plants to soil preparation, planting techniques and what it needs to thrive, and maintaining a healthy garden. This program will meet outside so please wear comfortable clothing/tennis shoes and bring a hat. All supplies are included. Water and snacks are provided. CSI KIDS: UNLOCKING THE SECRETS AND SOLVING MYSTERIES Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 5 Maximum: 16

Additional Information: Step into the shoes of a real-life investigator. In this hands-on, mystery-filled experience, youth learn the basics of crime scene investigation, including how to collect evidence, analyze clues, and solve puzzles using forensic techniques. You will work with tools like magnifying glasses, fingerprint kits, blood samples (fake) and simulated crime scenes to uncover hidden secrets. Learn to sharpen your observation skills and work as a team to crack the case. It’s a fun and edu cational way to learn about science, problem-solving, and the world of crime investigation! Additional Information: Get ready to relax and recharge! In this hands-on workshop, youth will enjoy fun pampering activities while learning why self-care matters. Participants will create bath bombs, sugar scrubs, and lip balms. From simple skincare to mindfulness moments, this session encourages self-love, confidence, and healthy habits. Additional Information: Celebrate the season with hands-on gardening workshop where youth get their hands dirty and learn how to grow cool season crops. Young gardeners will explore how plants grow in cooler weather and learn what makes fall gardens special. This workshop will cover what plants grow best in the fall, how to prepare soil for cooler temperatures, and how to care for plants as the seasons change. Perfect for curious kids who love nature, getting outdoors, and learning some thing new! This program will meet outside so please wear comfortable clothing/tennis shoes and bring a hat.
