CHRISTIANSBURG FARMERS MARKET Dates/Times: Thursdays May 16 - October 31 from 2-6 p.m. Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center Parking Lot Admission: FREE

Additional Information: The Christiansburg Farmers Market features local farmers and vendors each Thursday. Seasonal produce, plants, fresh baked goods, crafts, fresh flowers, and handmade jewelry are some of the items available for purchase. Items for purchase vary week-to-week. Check our Facebook page for details about weekly themes, prizes, vendors, and live music. “BETTER TOGETHER” ROCKIN’ FOOD TRUCK RODEO Dates/Times: Saturday, September 14 at 3 p.m. Location: W. Main Street Admission: FREE Additional Information: Come enjoy a variety of foods from over 20 food trucks from across Virginia & North Carolina! Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Catch the VT Hokies football game on the big screen as well. We’ll start the afternoon with local band Don and the Deltones taking the stage at 3 p.m. followed by Jimothy at 5 p.m. Be prepared to be blown away when Miller Holler takes the stage at 7 p.m. Miller Holler is sure to rock the stage with a combination of cover hits and original songs. GETTING SCARY ON THE HUCKLEBERRY 5K RACE AND TRUCK OR TREAT Additional Information: Race participants will begin and end the 5K at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. After the race, participants can enjoy free breakfast prepared by Parks and Recreation staff and reunite with their children for the annual Truck or Treat event. Trucks from Christiansburg Fire, Police, Rescue, Public Works, and others set up in the back-parking lot of the Recreation Center for kids and kids at heart to look at and touch. CALLS FROM THE NORTH POLE Ages: 8 and younger Date/Times: December 11 and December 12 starting at 5:30 p.m. Registration Ends: Monday, December 2 at 5 p.m. Additional Information: The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department has arranged for Santa to personally call children 8 years old and younger on December 10. For Santa to call, you need to register online at www.christiansburg.org/ recreation and return it by Monday, December 2. Santa may need more time to call all the children so if you do not receive a call on December 10, you will be called on December 11. Please keep your phone line open.
