WINTER WONDERLAND Dates/Times: Saturday, December 9 Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center Additional Information: Join us for a fun evening of Christmas-themed games, activities in Santa’s Workshop, hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas caroling, a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and much more! LIGHT UP YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a residential Christmas decorating contest. Staff members will visit each entry to determine the top entries. The top entries will be placed on the Town’s Facebook page for voting. Voting will begin on Friday, December 15 and run until 9 a.m. on Monday, December 18. We will announce the winner on Tuesday, December 19. The deadline for entry is Friday, December 8 at 5 p.m. Please visit our website for entry form. EGG-STREME EASTER EGG HUNT Dates/Times: Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. Location: TBD Admission: Canned food donation Ages: 18 & up Additional Information: Easter egg hunts aren’t just for kids anymore! This egg hunt is sure to be a wild time! Can you find Easter eggs in the dark? If you can, you could win prizes! Participants must have a flashlight to participate. Please register online or at the Rec Center. We ask that each participant brings a canned food item to be donated to a local food pantry. EASTER EGG HUNT ages 3-5 10:15 a.m. ages 6-8 10:30 a.m. ages 9-12 10:45 a.m. ages under 3 Christiansburg Parks & Recreation and the Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg host the Great Christiansburg Easter Egg Hunt each March/April for children ages 12 and under. Children bring their own baskets and search for surprises the Easter Bunny has left behind! Children are divided into age groups for the hunts. You can only hunt in your age group; you cannot go up or down an age group. Please arrive early to claim your spot for your hunt area. The hunts will start at the times above and you can only hunt in your age group (cannot go up or down an age group). The Easter Bunny also stops by each year to take photos!
