How It Works GRANTMAKING

The Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc. awarded a total of $482,096.54 in grants to area non-profit organizations in support of their beneficial projects in 2024. In the Foundation’s 28 year of grantmaking, an investment of more than $4 million has been made in our area for awarded projects. th The Community Foundation awards discretionary and field of interest grants to 501(c)(3) and other non=profit organizations serving Mercer County, West Virginia, Tazewell County, Virginia, and the surrounding area in four areas of charitable giving: Education, Health, Human Services, and Arts & Humanities. Applications are accepted annually beginning April 1 and must be received in the Foundation office or postmarked by June 30. For additional information, organizations are encouraged to contact The Community Foundation office.
