The practice strives to maintain a productive, efficient workplace free of harassment of any type. The practice, therefore, prohibits the use of its telephone systems, fax systems and computer systems and networks, e-mail, or the Internet that is disruptive and potentially offensive to others. The display or transmission of sexually explicit images, messages or cartoons is prohibited. This also includes, but is not limited to, ethnic slurs, racial or sexual comments, off-color jokes, vulgarities, obscenities, or anything that may be construed as harassment, discrimination, or which is disrespectful of others. Individuals should refrain from using computer systems, e-mail, and the Internet for personal reasons, except as permitted under this policy. E-mail should be used no differently than business letterhead. All e-mail communications are considered business documents and are subject to subpoena. All e-mail correspondence should be complete and accurate in content. E-mail may not be used to solicit others for commercial ventures, religious or political causes, outside organizations, or other non-business matters. Users of e-mail cannot assume privacy of the transmission. Users of e-mail and all other computer or Internet resources waive any right of privacy in the communications and consent to the access and disclosure by authorized business members.
The Clinic reserves the right to read and preserve the contents of all files or messages created, transmitted, or stored using business resources.
Dr. Beamer must have password accessibility to all computers at all times.
Employer Information & Property
The protection of Community Animal Clinic’s business information, property and all other assets are vital to the interests and success of the Clinic. No Community Animal Clinic-related information or property, including without limitation, documents, files, records, computer files, equipment, office supplies, pet products, or similar materials (except in the ordinary course of performing duties on behalf of Community Animal Clinic) may, therefore, be removed from the Clinic’s premises. In addition, when an employee leaves Community Animal Clinic’s employ, the employee must return to the Clinic all Community Animal Clinic-related information and property that the employee has in his or her possession, including without limitation, documents, files, records, manuals, information stored on a personal computer or on a computer media, pet products, and equipment or office supplies.
