CAC Employee Handbook June 2024
progressive discipline, up to and including termination of employment, if all other means of resolution fail.
Attendance & Tardiness
To maintain a productive work environment, Community Animal Clinic expects employees to be reliable and to be on time when reporting for scheduled work.
Absenteeism and tardiness place a burden on other employees and on Community Animal Clinic. In rare instances when employees cannot avoid being late to work or are unable to work as scheduled, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible in advance of the anticipated tardiness or attendance or no later than 1 hour inside the beginning of the shift. Repeated absenteeism and tardiness may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. While the Clinic is committed to progressive discipline, nothing herein shall be construed as creating a presumption that an employee may be terminated only after all less severe steps in the progressive discipline system have been exhausted. If an employee is absent for 3 consecutive workdays without authorization or without advising Community Animal Clinic, the employee may be considered to have voluntarily resigned from their position.
