either party at any time for any reason, so long as there is no violation of applicable federal or state law.

Provided job performance is satisfactory at the end of the initial employment period, he or she will continue in the Clinic’s employ as an at will employee.

Access to Employment Files

Community Animal Clinic maintains an employment file on each employee. The file may include such information as the employee’s job application, resume, records of training, documentation concerning job performance, documentation of wage adjustments, and other employment records. Employment files are the property of Community Animal Clinic, and access to the information they contain is restricted. Generally, only Dr. Beamer has a legitimate reason to review information in these files. Employees who wish to review their own file should contact Dr. Beamer. With reasonable advance notice, employees may review their own employment file in Community Animal Clinic’s private space and in the presence of Dr. Beamer or her designee. Employees are not permitted to remove materials from such files. Employees and former employees may request access to information contained in their employment file as permitted under Virginia law.

Personal Data Changes

It is the responsibility of each employee to promptly notify Community Animal Clinic of any changes in personal data. Personal mailing address, telephone number(s), number and names of dependents, individual(s) to be contacted in the event of an emergency, educational accomplishments, and other such status reports should be accurate and current at all times. If any personal data changes, please notify Dr. Beamer or her designee.
