CAC Employee Handbook June 2024

Community Animal Clinic encourages employees to bring their disputes or differences with other employees to the attention of Dr. Beamer (or an Associate Veterinarian) before the situation escalates into potential violence. Community Animal Clinic is eager to assist in the resolution of disputes between employees and will not discipline employees for raising such concerns.

Tobacco Use / Smoking

Tobacco use and the use of e-cigarettes or vaping devices, whether containing nicotine or not, is prohibited inside of the Community Animal Clinic building.

Tobacco use may take place before or after an employee’s scheduled work shift or during meal periods when the employee is not inside the Clinic building. This Tobacco use policy applies equally to employees, customers, and other visitors to Community Animal Clinic.

Inclement Weather

Community Animal Clinic operates, at least internally, regardless of weather conditions. However, the practice does not want anyone to put him or herself in jeopardy traveling to work. If an employee finds that he or she is unable to come to work as scheduled, please contact Dr. Beamer.

Emergency Evacuation

If fire, or other natural disaster, calls for emergency evacuation procedures, it is important to keep several basic guidelines in mind:

1. Personally vacate the premises and ensure co-workers are evacuated, as well – gathering in one central location – the dumpster area – to account for all employees. Safety of all people is the main concern.
