MERIT BADGE SUMMER PROGRAMS The following activities are available for boys and girls ages 10-17 interested in improving their health, learning new skills and expanding their work. Also this is an introduction to Boy Scouting and starting a journey of earning badge requirements while having fun! Once a Boy Scout submits a "blue card" (provided in each class) to his troop leader, his troop will purchase and award the badge. **Non-Boy Scouts (boys and girls) are also welcome to sign up and learn new skills and topics through these programs as well as experience a part of the Boy Scouting program.

 CITIZENSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY − INSTRUCTOR: LISA BASS Location: Recreation Center − Classroom 1 Minimum: 4   Maximum: 15

Additional Information: Living in a community means more than residence. In order to be productive citizens, children need to learn more about their neighborhoods, town and counties as well as become knowledgeable in the governments and organizations within those borders. This is an Eagle-required merit badge for Boy Scouts. Registration Eligibility Date Time TR/NR April 1 − May 31 Ages 10-17 Thursday, June 6 9 a.m. − Noon $12/$22

 AMERICAN HERITAGE − INSTRUCTOR: LISA BASS Location: Recreation Center − Classroom 1 Minimum: 4   Maximum: 15

Additional Information: A better understanding of American heritage, the ways in which the past has led to our present nation, is key to truly knowing what it means to be an American and how to be a better citizen. This is NOT an Eagle-required merit badge for Boy Scouts but a great one to earn. Registration Eligibility Date Time TR/NR April 1 − May 24 Ages 10-17 Thursday, June 6 1 − 4 p.m. $12/$22

 PERSONAL FITNESS − INSTRUCTOR: LISA BASS Location: Recreation Center − Classroom 1 Minimum: 4   Maximum: 15

Additional Information: Personal fitness is an individual effort and desire to be the best one can be. Take a physical fitness test to mark a starting point to a 12 week program. Start a lifelong health habit to be in better shape, feel better about yourself, have more energy, and gain self-confidence in your overall ability. Wear exercise clothing and shoes. Bring your own water bottle, lunch and snacks. This is an Eagle-required merit badge for Boy Scouts.
