Annual Report 2019

Donors - The Lifeblood of Our Foundation The Warm Hearth Foundation held its annual donor appreciation event in September, 2019, inviting its donors to Warm Hearth Village for an evening of gratitude featuring good food, good music, and good friends. Donors were treated to a full barbeque dinner from Hethwood Market, including their signature pulled pork barbeque, mac and cheese, green beans, and banana pudding. After the meal, local bluegrass band County Connection provided entertainment at Warm Hearth’s World War II Memorial Park. Join us for Donor Appreciation

Rock Steady Boxing

Thanks to donors to the Warm Hearth Foundation, the Rock Steady Boxing program grew in 2019, as the Warm Hearth Village Fitness Center added additional classes and a new Parkinson’s Support Group to its regular schedule. Residents and class members from the community led an initiative in the spring of 2019 to help fund the program’s expansion. The funds raised were used to send Fitness Director, Kenny Harrah to Phoenix, AZ for the second annual Rock Steady Coaches Conference. This advanced, “Level 2” training for active, certified Rock Steady Boxing coaches offered more in-depth training and the chance to connect with hundreds of coaches from around the world to share their expertise and experience.

In 2018, Warm Hearth Village became the first senior living community in Virginia to offer Rock Steady Boxing, a unique exercise program designed to help those living with Parkinson’s disease.
