Terminology Confusion: DoDAF 2.0 “Model” ≠ MBSE “Model”

• Models attempt to represent the entities of the engineering problem (opportunities) and their relationships to each other and connect them to the proposed solution • MBSE creates an integrated system model which brings insight into the structure, integrity and sufficiency of the ultimate solution Visualizing architectural data is accomplished through models (e.g., the products  described in previous versions of DoDAF). Models (which can be documents,  spreadsheets, dashboards, or other graphical representations) serve as a template  for organizing and displaying data in a more easily understood format. Graphical and textual views derived from the true systems model are at most viewable projections of the model.
