Legacy Society members demonstrate an unwavering confidence in Virginia Tech by choosing to make gifts that will come to the university at a future date. Such gifts help ensure the vitality and viability of this great institution for generations to come. Members include alumni and friends who have, either as individuals or as couples, included Virginia Tech in their estate plans or made deferred commitments in support of the university. DONOR RECOGNITION SOCIETIES LEGACY SOCIETY
UT PROSIM SOCIETY
The Ut Prosim Society was created to recognize donors who are leaders within the community of alumni and friends that support Virginia Tech. Their philanthropy and generosity epitomize the spirit and motto of Virginia Tech: Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). Members of the Ut Prosim Society help set the standard for service and ensure a strong future for the university. Membership is available on an individual or joint basis to donors who have made lifetime contributions of $100,000 or more.
The 1872 Society recognizes loyalty and generosity by honoring those who make annual leadership gifts to any designation at Virginia Tech. Members remain in the society as long as they continue to make annual gifts at the leadership level. That level starts at $1,000 for students and alumni up to five years post graduation; $2,500 for alumni from six to nine years post graduation; and $5,000 for other alumni or friends of the university. DONOR RECOGNITION SOCIETIES 1872 SOCIETY
PYLON SOCIETY Brotherhood, duty, honor, leadership, loyalty, sacrifice, service, and Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). These are the ideals emblazoned on the pylons of Virginia Tech’s most beloved monument, the War Memorial. The Pylon Society recognizes loyal alumni and friends who demonstrate their belief in these ideals with their consistent philanthropic support of the university. Members qualify in two ways, by giving to any Virginia Tech college or program in consecutive fiscal years, or by establishing recurring gifts.
