Some work for years to make a name Never learning the simplest way A unique few need only to wake And be themselves throughout the day Small and strong and above reproach Loving acts, unknown and unseen Except by those he daily touched This man we knew as “God’s go-between” My Dad, my Mentor, my biggest fan He taught me baseball, he taught me life He caught my first curve, he saw my first tear He loved me to manhood, he embraced my wife He taught me the value of simple things Like truth and kindness and cheerios And when we spoke of schoolyard fights He simply said, “for speed, stay on your toes” He let me win stupid arguments Even when he knew he was right Cause only for love and honor Would he rise to his feet and fight He taught me to honor and cherish The woman from first sight he loved My Dad knew Mom by only one name He called her, “His gift from above” Give him the King James and Oliver Greene
He lived for God with every breath A passion for Christ - his legacy Which can never be thwarted by death I watched his life as best I could Man of God, father of mine Laid to rest this Resurrection eve But alive in us ‘til the end of time... Beauty By Destiny Furrow Nature has many elements, Along with the stars and moon. Nature is absolutely beautiful,
