As darkness embraces the day A dreadful silence creation wide That He might forever take darkness away. The Mother By Dr. Rick Farmer Pain gives birth to love For one who loves a child For in her heart the endless tear Has been reborn as a life giving smile. Life is resurrected through her pain And children reap new life Flowing from the hands of one Who builds hope midst the strife. ‘Tis Jesus who has taught her His suffering set her free To become the mother her soul embraced Though her body would not let it be. Life can be so hard at times Can seem an endless day But when a child smiles back at you Yesterday’s pain is wiped away. So love the child living in your eyes And know, ‘tis life you bring For pain is turned to brightest day When love becomes the song you sing. My Dad By Dr. Rick Farmer Three Score and ten, the promise of God For some not nearly time enough And though the end is set for all This world is changed by some at birth A stubborn integrity known to all If I could be but half the man I see in him each time I choose To take my Dad’s compassionate hand
