OCTOBER 17, 2019 - DJOUKIL - SWING JAZZ GROUP Formed in 2008 in Lyon, France, Djoukil is a group of five fantastic musicians joined by their common passion for the music of Django Reinhardt-style Gypsy Jazz and American Swing. Their favorite era being the jazz/swing rhythms and melodies of the 1940s makes them a much sought after band for swing dances, festivals and concerts in France and now they are sharing their music with the U.S.! NOVEMBER 7, 2019 - THE SONGS OF LARRY MCPEAK TRIBUTE CONCERT The late Larry McPeak was Wytheville’s own legendary musician, vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the McPeak Brothers Band. The award-winning musicians and vocalists will gather on our stage to bring back to life the songs of Larry McPeak. Join- ing Johnny Williams and Mike McPeak will be Nikki Wright, Steve Chrisley, Jeanette Williams, Adam McPeak, Lindsay Jackson and David Chrisley. ***************WINTER BREAK************* MARCH 5, 2020 - FRANK EMERSON - SONGS & STORIES Local favorite Frank Emerson has been performing professionally since 1972 and re- turns to our stage with his songs, anecdotes and toasts to life. Irish bard, American pa- triot, storyteller, singer/songwriter and top-notch entertainer, Emerson is also author of Frank Tells Tales and Wythe Bane Graham-Letters and Narrative of a Son of the Old Dominion and co-author of a collaborative anthology of short stories, Clean Cabbage in The Bucket and Other Tales From The Irish Music Trenches . APRIL 2, 2020 - BIL LEPP - STORYTELLER Returning to our stage is a performer whose friendly tall tales and stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages and from all walks of life. Though a five-time champion of the West Virginia Liar’s Contest, Bil Lepp’s stories often contain morsels of truth. His books and audio collections have won many awards including the PEN Steven Kroll Award for Children’s Book Writing, National Parenting Publications Asso- ciation and Public Library Association. Lepp lives in Charleston, WV with his wife and two children. MAY 7, 2020 - EVE WATTERS - CELTIC HARP, SONGS & TALES A modern-day bard from Crozet, VA, Eve Watters brings enchanting airs and dances from the Celtic world, beautiful old ballads, classical pieces and folk songs. A singer, storyteller, harpist and multi-instrumentalist, Watters has been performing since 1977. She also pio- neered the University of Virginia Health Systems’ Musician-in-Residence program as a ther- apeutic musician at patients’ bedsides. Djoukil
