20. Evaluation for alcohol or drug abuse 21. Participation in a drug, alcohol or violence intervention, prevention or treatment program Whenever an infraction occurs, the principal shall have the right to use other forms of disciplinary measures if the above corrective actions do not fit the infraction. The following charts include guidelines for typical student infractions. However, if an offense is considered serious, a building administrator at his/her discretion and consultation with other school administrative officials, may use a more severe sanction. BOMB THREATS/FALSE FIRE ALARMS (JFC-R 06/17) A. Definition: Any communication to another by any means of a threat to bomb, burn, destroy, or damage school property, and/or buses, set and/or report false fire alarms, or give false information. B. General: Students who threaten to bomb or damage school property and/or buses, set and/or report false fire alarms possess or ignite smoke bombs and/or explosives, or who give false information concerning it are subject to suspension from school or recommended for expulsion. THIRD OFFENSE

BULLYING (JFC-R 06/17) A. Definition: "Bullying" means any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, Intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggress or Aggressor’s and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. "Bullying" Includes cyber bullying "Bullying" does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument, or peer conflict. A student either individually or as part of a group, shall not harass or bully others either in person or by the use of any communication technology including computer systems, telephones, pagers, or instant messaging systems. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to, physical, verbal, or written intimidation, taunting name-calling, and insults and/or any combination of prohibited activities. B. General: A student shall not use abusive language and/or abusive behavior whether oral, written, or electronic communication toward any employee, student or other person while on school property, on a school bus, or at any school sponsored activity, this would include incidents that happen outside school hours that are brought to the attention of administration and handled by school officials during school hours. The student may also be subject to criminal prosecution. At the elementary level, after three occurrences of bullying, viewed or reported to the classroom teacher (with escalating sanctions from the teacher)/ sooner based on severity, student will be sent to the principal.
