Our roots A nonprofit community,Warm HearthVillage was founded in 1974 byWybe and Marietje Kroontje, Dutch immigrants who came to the U.S. afterWorldWar II. Eager to give something back to the country that had given so much to them,Wybe and Marietje created a welcoming community dedicated to fostering a person-centered approach to aging. A life-lease is an agreement between you andWarm HearthVillage to lease the apartment home for as long as you are willing or able. You sign the agreement, pay the life-lease fee and when you move out, you receive a refund based on the length of time you have lived there. Life-lease fees vary based on size and features of the apartment home.
