2. The Health and Safety manager must authorize all outside medical treatment. In the event that the safety manager is not available to give authorization, appropriate medical care will be given and the safety manager will be notified as soon as possible. 3. Medical treatment obtained without company approval may not be covered by Workers' Compensation. 4. All medical restrictions must be reported immediately to the Health and Safety Manager. Employees with restrictions (including a no-work restriction) due to an on-the-job injury or illness are required to report to work as scheduled, report directly to the Safety Manager’s office, and wait until the Safety Manager performs an assessment of light duty work assignments that may be available to the employee. 5. Employees are required to provide the safety manager with all medical discharge instructions and prescriptions. Employees are encouraged to schedule follow-up appointments during off work hours. 6. Light duty assignments may be available for workers with restrictions associated with an on-the-job injury or illness. The EHS department will work with employees where this option is available. 7. The employee is responsible for informing the treating physician/agency that if a return-to-regular work is not possible, the company will provide suitable modified work based on the physical restrictions identified. 8. The employee is responsible for co-operating with the employer in identifying suitable work that is consistent with any medical restrictions identified. 9. The employee is responsible to maintain communication and provide the safety manager with all required documentation and follow-up information throughout the duration of the process. Failure to do so may result in a claim denial. 10.The employee is responsible for cooperating with health care initiatives and other rehabilitation measures to assist in the safe return to work process. Failure to do so may result in a claim denial or closing of claim. 11.Failure to report an injury immediately may result in corrective action. 12.Employees working under the light duty program are not eligible to work overtime.
