The report editor provides a development environment for the development and editing of a report Selecting any report opens the report editor (a customized IDE) with the Report Template populated with controls for that report When the report is run the report viewer is opened to show the contents (or results) of running the report

Understanding Report Bands • A report consists of a number of bands, each of a different type • A Report Band represents a specific area on a page, used to access data • DetailBands are used to access project information • Any DetailBand may contain a report control • A control is used within a band to display data and to control how the data is rendered in the report on the printed page
