I choose to invite the Holy Spirit of our God into the process of pro claiming the Word of God through liturgical dance. It is my challenge to each dancer to further understand and identify our ministerial author ity, an understanding that is not egotistical but rather may cultivate a richer ministry when we are able to function fully in the divine gift, call, and identity as a “liturgical dance minister.” Liturgical dance ministers who move from such a sacrificial understanding may want to explore with God what this means for them. It has been my experience that danc ers (including myself) who forfeit these primary steps simply resemble mechanical robots who don’t draw on the powerful source of the Holy Spirit of God. The seed phase In this phase the music is introduced to the dancer(s) and is listened to silently several times. Then the dancer(s) verbally reflects on the music, its theological mean ing, and the message it has for the people of God. It is my belief that we as liturgical dance ministers need to
