COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER C. Todd Asbury

C. Todd Asbury is President, CEO and Board Member of New Peoples Bankshares and its subsidiary New Peoples Bank. Todd has been with the bank since 2003 serving as an executive in the role of Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary prior to his appointment as President and CEO in December 2014. His banking career spans over 32 years, of which 28 years have been primarily in the southwestern region of Virginia. Todd is also a licensed CPA in VA. Todd is involved in several community ventures where recently, he was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater (‘93), Bluefield College. He has served the Board as Vice Chairman and Finance Committee Chairman in recent years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southwest Virginia, the Virginia Early Childhood Development Foundation and the Southwest Virginia Workforce Development Board.

Todd is an Ordained Bishop and serves as Senior Pastor of Adoration Church of God in Bristol, Virginia for the past 17 years. He and his wife Melissa, also an alumna of Bluefield College (’98), and their 4 children, are residents of Bristol, Virginia.
