Rev. Jeff Chadwick 1989 - 2000
Westminster ’ s sixth pastor came from Silver Spring, Maryland. Jeff Chadwick majored in psychology and minored in Spanish at East Carolina University. His M.Div. came from Gordon Conwell Seminary. In January 1989, Jeff recalls that he received a phone call from that dear saint of the church, Bela Feuchtenberger, a member
In reflection, I am so thankful that God ’ s path brought me to this loving church family. His grace has sustained me though many years, and my heart ’ s desire to please Him. Here I ’ ve been fed the Word of God and have given opportunities for growth and service. Through Women ’ s Ministries, I ’ ve been prayed for and ministered to through some difficult valleys including illness, depression and grief. Up to that point, he had not heard any indication from the Lord that it was time for a new call. Jeff was very happy serving two small yoked churches in the rural area outside of Monroe, North Carolina, which he ’ d done for close to seven years, and had, in no way, entertained the thought of leaving. A vibrant children ’ s ministry, led by Ruth Goodson, produced more than a few outstanding musical productions. Ruth recalls, “ With a team of folks, we produced several children ’ s plays. I still remember Dave Mahood using his technical talents to build us a fog machine! ”
And how many church projects and details in this church has Dave Mahood been the one we have always gone to?
